About the Author
Jorge Jaramillo is an electronic engineer from Colombia who works as a Loss Control Engineer in the insurance market and he's been doing so for over 15 years. Jorge did origami as a kid but stopped, thinking it was a dead end, since he didn’t know there were more models than the few he knew. Many years later he found Peter Engel’s 8 Point Star on the desk of a workmate and that day he was hooked again with origami, when he learnt there were plenty of models, books and all kinds of information. At first Jorge tried to do figurative origami but he soon learnt his skills were better fitted for geometric models. He did lots of tessellations and one sheet geometric models and soon he started created some simple ones, mostly variations on existing models. Jorge has created over 70 models and his first book “Because Origami Vol. 1” contains 20 of his best ones. Jorge is married and has no kids.
